A whole page about me?????

You may call me Ray. I chose that surname because of two loves: my highschool sweetheart who was the first pear to associate me with warmth (ray of sunshine); and the animals (mantas, dasyatidae, etc).

So, you may call me Ray. That name reminds me of love. The love we recive, the love we give.

As far as succint presentations goes, i don't think i can succeed much here (despite my best efforts, i seem to struggle with being succint when i need to and being disgressive when i should). But as a habit, i don't let that stop me from trying, so here i go:

I strive to be generous, kind and nuanced for my loved ones. I strive to be soft to the margins as that is where i am from and where i will likely be kept. I strive to be undefinable, unbentable, unbarable to those who love order and puritanism. I strive to be myself in all intents and instants.

I often feel i either over or under do, perfrom, produce, etc. I think this is linked to a wrongfull belief that there is a correct, perfect amount of me, actions, consequences, etc. I know I am not the only one working at dismanteling such beliefs. I want to understand and be understood, and that is a lot of what being human is to me. Or maybe an artist. Maybe both.

"To recognize queerness in conflict means to address the residue of a dead world within us - trauma in our bodies, possession by egregores, lies on our tongues. Be humble; know that you are addressing wounds inflicted upon countless generations. Be gentle with yourself and each other in these matters, but remember that healers often have the bloodiest hands."

"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophiscates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain."

as i said on my home page, i'm bilingual (kinda) french/english. if you find that my ponctuation placement is weird, it's most definitly from here. In computer French, things like ? ! and : need a space before and after. I try and do my best to remember that they don't in English.

also, my level of care isn't that high, as both languages suck and we are (historically) colonialists assholes. that's also why i don't really care to capitalize the i's most of the time. To say i dislike the police is un understatement, so why should i police myself with something as trivial as this?

a little treat for coming all this way: my cat's name is Amadeus.

He's a little prince and a total drama queen that will absolutely beg to be petted for hours but won't do the three steps necessary to be in your reach. I still pet him every time 'cause he lives with one of my parents (where he gets a full access to the outside and is very happy). The image doesn't do justice to the fact that he is a chunky boy. well, chunky man. he's not young anymore, not old yet.
